Where It All Began

J.T. Griffiths & Co. was founded in 1912, in the industrial heartland of England — an area with textiles woven into its very identity. For over a century, the Griffiths family has dedicated itself to one thing: supplying the finest mattress tickings to the bedding industry.

The business was formally incorporated in 1955 under Peter Griffiths, who grew the company from its original roots into a recognised name across the UK textile trade. Operating from their warehouse on Stockport Road in Ashton-under-Lyne, the company became a fixture of the local business community.

Richard Griffiths, Peter's son, carried the business forward for decades — building relationships across the industry and expanding the company's reach. Richard's dedication to the trade and his deep knowledge of textile manufacturing earned him lasting respect among suppliers and customers alike.

The Next Chapter

Today, Robert Griffiths — Richard's son and the fourth generation — leads J.T. Griffiths & Co. into a new era. Taking the reins at a young age, Rob brings fresh energy and ambition to a business built on over a century of expertise.

Under Rob's leadership, the company has expanded its global footprint with operations across the UK, Poland, Turkey, and China. Through a global supply chain and partnerships with world-leading fabric producers, J.T. Griffiths can offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of mattress tickings available anywhere.

The mission is simple: combine the heritage and industry knowledge that comes with four generations in the trade with a modern, forward-looking approach. The Griffiths name has been in this industry for over 110 years — and Rob is determined it will be there for 110 more.
